All About Me

img_0316

Hello one and all!

Welcome to my blog.

I suppose that formality states that I should introduce myself so that we can all get to know each other a little and hopefully develop this blog to its fullest potential.

I am a 30 something operation Paramedic Team Leader in the UK. I have been a paramedic for the past 10 years and prior to that I was a Registered Nurse.

I have a beautiful wife and 3 wonderful children who like to keep me firmly rooted in reality whenever I walk through the door!

I am one of these strange individuals that every work place has. You know the one I mean… the one who loves his job, the one who stays positive about everything even when  things seem to been all going a bit pear shaped.

I still enjoy coming into work every shift and wherever I go I try and tell anyone who wants to listen, how wonderful my job is. I am also a realist and know that sometimes things dont go to plan, things may get in the way of me being happy ALL of the time. But I tend not to dwell on those things.

I hope to share with you, the blog reader, the ups and downs of being a paramedic in the UK. The good times and the bad, and hopefully, after a while you too will understand why this work becomes more that just a job.

Wonder if you could help me out. I read a blog post 2-3 days ago from a medic in London. He was describing budget cuts, dispatch triage problems and other headaches that plague medics in the States as well.

Sorry to say, I didn't bookmark the site and have forgotten the blog's name. Does this ring a bell? If so, please let me know.

    Thanks

    Greetings,

My name is Barbara O’ Brien and my blogging at The Mahablog, Crooks and Liars, AlterNet, and elsewhere on the progressive political and health blogophere has earned me the notoriety of being a panelist at the Yearly Kos Convention and a featured guest blogger at the Take Back America Conference in Washington, DC.

I’m contacting you because I found your site in a prominent politics and health reform blog search and want to tell you about my newest blogging platform —the public concern of politics, and health care and its reform. Our shared concerns include health reform, tort reform, public health, safe workplaces, and asbestos contamination.

To increase awareness on these important issues, my goal is to get a resource link on your site or even allow me to provide a guest posting. Please contact me back, I hope to hear from you soon. Drop by our site in the meantime—www.maacenter.org/blog.

No such thing as STATE registered. That went away with CPSM. You are either registered or you are not.

It’s nice to know I am not the only one out there that truly loves their job. I take a lot of flack for it at work. When the company said no raises this year, most groaned. I told them be glad they weren’t being laid off.
